On the 22-10-2021, a pledge was signed to commit ourselves into an incident free examination together with MEC Fundile Gade and the department's Senior Management. The signing was held in St Johns College ,Mtata. Grade 12 learners pledged to abide by the rules and regulations pertaining to conduct during the NSC Examinations.

Stembele Matotie, a seasoned teacher at St Johns College in Mthatha, flew the province’s flag high when he scooped a National Teachers Award in Johannesburg on Wednesday, in the presence of President Cyril Ramaphosa, who was on hand to congratulate him and the other winners.

The march against GBV and FEMICIDE. This was due to the loss of Thandiswa Molefe, one of our leaners who went missing for some time and was later found dead. The march was held from Circus Triangle, Mthatha. The march was a way of paying respect, showing compassion to the family, bring about harmony to the world and put some pressure on the justice system to find the culprits.

Eastern Cape Premier, Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, completed his week-long Back to School Programme by visiting St Johns on the 24th of January 2021. The purpose of the school visits was to encourage learners to work hard during the 2020 academic year, offer support to some of the learners and teacher's various needs, assess the state of the schools and come up with strategic interventions, in improving the conditions of teaching and learning.
